Easy Overnight Oatmeal

This oatmeal recipe makes eating a healthy breakfast super easy and fast. Just pour the ingredients into the slow cooker at night and when you wake up you will have a fast, yummy, no-prep breakfast! 

Oats are a terrific source of fiber and can help lower levels of LDL - the bad cholesterol. Adding hemp, chia, and flax seeds add essential protein for sustained energy and focus, omega-3's and more important fiber. Throw some berries on top for added antioxidants.

Servings 4

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Irish or Steel-Cut Oats
  • 4 1/2 Cups Water or use half water half milk (such as flax, almond, rice, coconut milk)
  • 2 Tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 3 Tbsp Hemp Seeds
  • 1 tbxp Flax seed Ground works well for this recipe
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Optional Add-ons and/or toppings.

  • 1-2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Cup Cranberries
  • 1/2 Cup Raisins
  • 1/2 Cup Other dried fruit
  • 1/2 Cup Chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker
  2. Cook on low (overnight) 8-9hrs.
  3. In the morning give it a stir and serve!

  4. Add your favorite berries or other fruit or/and sweetener such as honey, maple syrup, or palm sugar
