Teriyaki Salmon
Simple, tasty, healthy. Just a few ingredients needed to make a quick marinade.
Ingredients
- 1/2 C Tamari or Shoyu soy sauce
- 1/2 C Mirin
- 1/2 C Maple syrup honey or unrefined sugar
- 1 inch Knob grated or minced Fresh Ginger or 1/2 tsp ginger powder
- 1/2 tsp Onion powder
- 1-2 cloves Garlic - 1 or 2 cloves minced or ½ to 1 tsp garlic powder minced
- 4 Salmon filets
Instructions
-
Mix first 6 ingredients in a sauce pan.
-
Bring to a boil.
-
Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
-
Sauce can be thickened by making a slurry and adding if desired.
-
Place salmon fillets in a baking dish and pour in teriyaki sauce.
-
Heat oven to 350°
-
Bake for 15 minutes or until salmon is flaky
Recipe Notes
If not using Mirin, I suggest adding more sweetener to offset the highly salty soy sauce. Also adding a splash of pineapple is tasty and adds some sweetness.
