Slow Cooker Chicken
This is one of my favorite ways to make chicken. Couldn't be easier. Toss the onions and chicken into the slow cooker in the morning and dinner is waiting for you when get home at night! Once you've had dinner you can put the chicken bones back into the slow cooker with some herbs and vegetables to make a lovely, healthy, homemade chicken stock.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 Whole Roaster Chicken
- 1 TBS butter or margarine room temperature or avocado oil
- 1 TBS Thyme
- 1 TBS Oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 Cloves Garlic minced
- 1 Onion quartered
Instructions

Rinse and pat dry, chicken.

Mix butter (or oil) and herbs. Rub on or under skin.

Add chopped onions to slow cooker.

Place chicken on top of onions.

Cook on low for 8 hrs or high for 4 hrs.

Use chicken carcass to make healthy chicken stock. Bone broth has been shown to improve digestive health.
